Samsung galaxy s3 weather widget not updating

Rated 4.84/5 based on 506 customer reviews

It fails when I click on it and it is generating many annoying pop ups stating Unfortunately weather has stopped working.I have cleared the app and phone caches and I have tried using a different launcher with no luck.Take for instance the #Samsung Galaxy #S4, this Android smartphone which was once a flagship model has access to the Google Play Store which has more than a million apps available. Most of the apps available here are free while others come at a premium price.I have several widgets that should update regularly: chats, weather, Google Fit, call logs etc; and none of them is updating. When I reboot my phone, it updates the widgets one time, and that's that. For example, I have the widget for Google Fit on my home screen, and it is still showing the status from a couple of days ago; when I rebooted my phone. If your phone can’t do an app update the first thing you should check is if your phone is connected to the Internet.

I had tried several different ones and after a period of time, the widget would stop updating or responding to the manual update input from touching the widget.

Not all of the Android apps however work flawlessly as there are bound to be some bugs present which can cause issues on the device.

For this latest installment of our troubleshooting series we will be concentrating on the Galaxy S4 apps not updating issue and other related problems.

After running a force stop on Touchwiz, my widget once again started responding to input AND updating. To get below: After killing Touch Wiz and then the system firing it back off, the widgets started to work again. After finding that the issue above keeps happening with all weather widgets I placed on home screen, I tried three of the big launcher replacements (Go Launcher, Nova Launcher, and Apex).

I am not sure as of yet whether or not this is something an update from ATT/Samsung will fix, or if the app writers need to update code for the SGS4. NONE of the 3rd party launchers have this issue and widgets update perfectly.
